Financial Management Certification Program
The Nonprofit Sector Resource Institute, an arm of Seton Hall
University’s Center for Public Service is now accepting applications for
its highly regarded Financial Management Certificate Program (FMCP).
The Spring ’08 FMCP will be held on the main Seton Hall campus in
South Orange, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on six consecutive Saturdays
from March 29 through May 3.
FMCP is designed to appeal to anyone interested in enhancing their grasp
of the role of financial information in the management and resource
development processes. It will appeal to executive and program
directors, development staff, board members, and other interested
persons, as well as to those directly involved in financial management.
"Parv Shalov, Director of Finance & Operations for Homefirst Interfaith
Housing & Family Services, Inc, a large nonprofit agency that provides a
range of essential services for the homeless, says “I was new in my
position at HomeFirst, and the Financial Management Certificate Program
was invaluable to me. It gave me increased confidence in my grasp of the
financial issues facing our agency, and thus empowered me to be much
more comfortable and effective when interacting with other members of
the staff, as well as with our board.”
Barkley Calkins, the FMCP Program Coordinator said “This kind of
feedback has encouraged us to continue to offer the Program, and to
enhance it. Many past participants have commented on the relevance of
the program content and materials to the real world issues they
encounter in their places of work.”
The cost of the FMCP is $1,200. Partial tuition assistance may be
available.
